Anagama Working Bee | Shelf Grinding & Final Wood Stacking

  • Wellington Potters Association 130 Grant Road Thorndon New Zealand (map)

The final wood stacking session is here!

We'll also be grinding some of the bubbly kiln shelves, so it's a big and satisfying day of work getting the anagama ready for firing.

Please note: this is a physically demanding day. Expect plenty of lifting, barrowing, and power tool use (for shelf grinding). Sturdy shoes, garden gloves, sun protection, and a water bottle are a must. Pack a lunch or something to share!

If this one's too full-on, don't worry — there will be a less physical build-up day in the month before the firing with plenty of other ways to contribute.

As always, helping with the anagama build-up earns you the chance to enter two extra pots into the firing.
