Plates w/ Vivian Rodrigues | 2-Part Workshop

  • Wellington Potters Association 130 Grant Road Thorndon New Zealand (map)

Ever dreamed of making your own dinner set? Get started on it with Vivian Rodriguez in this 2-part workshop!

Designed for wheel throwers looking to learn or perfect the skills needed to design, throw, and trim plates (and by extension, platters), this workshop combines demonstration and hands-on practice across two sessions: one full day of throwing and a half-day of trimming. All levels are welcome, however students MUST be able to centre and work at the potter’s wheel unassisted.

10-12 kg your preferred type of clay.  Make sure you bring to class a type of clay you have used before and feel comfortable working with. Porcelain is not recommended, and it is not good idea to try new types of clay during the workshop.

Bring your favourite plate or platter for class discussion and inspiration!
