Kiln Biscuit Making Demonstration with Peter Rumble

  • Wellington Potters Association 130 Grant Road Thorndon New Zealand (map)

Learn what makes a good kiln biscuit--and what does not.

Peter Rumble, WPA's long-standing kiln maestro, will be hosting a free demonstration on creating strong, reusable kiln biscuits for your projects. Kiln biscuits are a must-have tool for potters, used to fire test tiles, small works, and wild clay pieces. Not only do they protect your pieces, but they also save money compared to replacing a kiln shelf.

Additionally, Peter will have high-fire clay available for purchase and the firing is included in this cost (up to 2kg of clay). Come prepared with the desired sizes for your biscuits or create a range of sizes to use as necessary. Peter will also have templates of kiln shelves so that you know your maximum dimensions for our family of kilns.

The demonstratioin is free, but space is limited.
